Introduction

At Gitrecap, we want you to be completely satisfied with our service. This Refund Policy explains our approach to refunds and cancellations for our GitHub repository activity tracking service.

This policy applies to all subscription payments made for Gitrecap services and should be read in conjunction with our Terms and Conditions.

7-Day Free Trial

We offer a 7-day free trial to all new users. During this trial period, you have full access to all features of Gitrecap at no cost. No payment information is required to start your free trial.

If you decide that Gitrecap is not right for you during the trial period, simply don't upgrade to a paid subscription. You will not be charged anything, and your trial will expire automatically.

Subscription Billing

Our subscription service is billed monthly in advance. When you subscribe to Gitrecap Pro for $19/month, you are charged at the beginning of each billing cycle for the upcoming month of service.

Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle unless cancelled before the renewal date.

Cancellation Policy

You can cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting our support team at support@gitrecap.com.

When you cancel:

  • Your subscription will remain active until the end of your current billing period
  • You will continue to have access to all features until the subscription expires
  • You will not be charged for subsequent billing cycles

Refund Eligibility

We offer refunds in the following circumstances:

Service Issues

If you experience significant service outages or technical issues that prevent you from using Gitrecap as intended, you may be eligible for a partial or full refund based on the duration and impact of the issue.

Billing Errors

If you have been charged in error (such as duplicate charges or charges after cancellation), we will provide a full refund of the incorrect charges.

Non-Refundable Situations

Refunds will generally not be provided in the following situations:

  • Requests made more than 30 days after the subscription payment
  • Change of mind after actively using the service beyond the free trial
  • Failure to cancel before automatic renewal (though future renewals can be cancelled)
  • Violations of our Terms and Conditions that result in account suspension
  • Requests for partial refunds for unused portions of monthly subscriptions
  • Refunds requested due to lack of understanding of service features that were clearly described

How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, please contact our support team with the following information:

  • Your account email address
  • The reason for your refund request
  • The date(s) and amount(s) of the charges you're disputing
  • Any relevant details about service issues (if applicable)

Refund Processing

Once we receive your refund request:

  • We will review your request within 2-3 business days
  • We may contact you for additional information if needed
  • If approved, refunds will be processed within 5-7 business days

  • You will receive email confirmation once the refund is processed

Please note that it may take additional time for the refund to appear on your credit card or bank statement, depending on your financial institution's processing times.

Disputes and Chargebacks

Before initiating a chargeback with your credit card company or bank, please contact us directly. We are committed to resolving any billing issues quickly and fairly.

Chargebacks can result in additional fees and complications for both parties. In most cases, we can resolve disputes more efficiently through direct communication.

If a chargeback is initiated without prior contact, we may suspend your account pending resolution of the dispute.

Account Deletion

If you receive a refund due to dissatisfaction with our service, your account may be suspended or deleted to prevent abuse of our refund policy. This means:

  • You will lose access to all data and reports in your account
  • You may not be eligible for future free trials
  • Any connected integrations (Slack, GitHub) will be disconnected

Changes to This Refund Policy

We reserve the right to modify this Refund Policy at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting on our website. We will notify existing subscribers of any material changes via email.

Continued use of our service after changes to this policy constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Fair Use Policy

Our refund policy is designed to be fair to both our customers and our business. We reserve the right to refuse refund requests that we determine to be:

  • Fraudulent or abusive
  • Made in bad faith
  • Part of a pattern of refund abuse
  • Inconsistent with the terms outlined in this policy
