Terms and Conditions

Last updated: September 6, 2025

Introduction

Welcome to Gitrecap. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our website at gitrecap.com and our services (the "Service") operated by Gitrecap ("we", "us", or "our").

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with any part, you may not use the Service.

Service Description

Gitrecap provides automated GitHub repository activity tracking and reporting. With the Service you can:

  • Connect selected GitHub repositories (public or private)
  • Generate on-demand and scheduled reports (daily or weekdays)
  • Receive summaries via email and optional Slack integration
  • Export reports as PDF and access historical report data
  • View team‑level analytics (commits, PRs, issues, reviews)

Authentication & Accounts

You authenticate exclusively via GitHub OAuth. We do not create local passwords and do not have access to your GitHub password. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your GitHub account and any actions taken under your session.

You must provide accurate account information and keep it up to date. Usernames that infringe the rights of others or are otherwise unlawful may be rejected or reclaimed.

GitHub Integration & Permissions

Our Service integrates with GitHub via OAuth. By connecting GitHub, you authorize Gitrecap to access data for the repositories you select. We request the following scopes only:

  • read:user – read your basic GitHub profile
  • user:email – read your verified email address
  • repo – read repository metadata and activity for public and private repositories

We use the repo scope in a read-only manner for reporting. We do not push code, open PRs, create issues, or modify repository settings. You can revoke access at any time in your GitHub settings under Authorized OAuth Apps.

Fair Use & API Limits

You agree not to circumvent GitHub or Gitrecap rate limits. Heavy usage that degrades service for others may be throttled or temporarily suspended.

Third‑Party Services

The Service may integrate with third parties such as GitHub, Slack, analytics providers, cloud hosting, and payment processors. Your use of third‑party services is governed by their terms and policies.

Subscription & Billing

Some features are offered on a subscription basis ("Subscription"). Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each monthly billing cycle unless canceled. A 7‑day free trial is available for new customers.

Payments are processed by our payment provider. We do not store full card details. Applicable taxes may be collected as required by law.

You may cancel at any time in your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid term.

Refunds

Refund requests may be considered on a case‑by‑case basis at our discretion. See our Refund Policy for details.

Prohibited Uses

You may not use the Service to:

  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Infringe the rights of others or upload unlawful content
  • Introduce malware, attempt to breach security, or interfere with the Service
  • Misrepresent your identity or affiliation
  • Scrape or harvest data beyond what the Service provides

Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of Gitrecap and its licensors. Our trademarks and trade dress may not be used without our prior written consent.

Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason including breach of these Terms or harmful use. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

You may terminate your account by discontinuing use and, if desired, requesting account deletion.

Disclaimer

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Gitrecap and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising from or related to your use of the Service.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Gitrecap operates, without regard to conflict of law provisions.

Changes to These Terms

We may modify these Terms from time to time. If a change is material, we will provide notice prior to the new terms taking effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
